In 2017, Lumieres Hong Kong Festival made its debut in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Hong Kong SAR. Inspired by, and in partnership with the Fête des Lumières de Lyon (France), the largest light festival in the world, Lumieres Hong Kong gathered over 500,000 participants during 3 nights in November 2017.
The 1st ever light festival in Hong Kong set light to some of the most iconic heritage sites of the City with the aim to highlight Hong Kong’s unique culture and history through light art.
Lumieres Hong Kong returns on its second edition in November 2019: Light installations, video projections and art pieces will be created by a selection of renowned local and international artists to invite the audience to rediscover the city under a new light.
